The Romanesque Priory of Serabonna (founded in 1082) is a masterpiece of sculpture. Good and evil clash on the capitals. The building materials, such as marble, slate, and iron, came from the surrounding area.

The classic and arguably most-visited peak of the Eastern Pyrenees. Due to its location, this mountain can be seen far into France. The gravel road to the Ras dels Cortalets parking lot requires good shock absorbers (please correct me if it's no longer allowed to drive there). From there, it's only 600 meters of elevation gain via Pic Joffre to the summit. The second ascent from the south is somewhat more challenging, so a traverse is also possible.

There are still bed bugs (punaises de lit) in this cabin. We don't sleep here. There are also mice living in the cabin - at least there is droppings on the beds and we saw a few around. Luckily there is just enough space between the well and the table for a two-person tent. Not ideal, but better than sleeping inside 😀

There is water here.

The small town, located in the heart of the Canigou massif, has a remarkable natural heritage: a Natura 2000 site and two natural areas of ecological, fauna and flora interest. This small village has accommodation if you wish to spend the night there.

The small Pinateil shelter is located at 1,652 meters above sea level. Located on the HRP (Haute Route Pyrénéenne) and Canigou tour trail, it has a few beds.
