Ehle with banks of trees In the southeast of the Magdeburg city area, the Ehle enters the flood canal as the Ehle Canal coming from the east. The Ehle Canal is perfectly straight. In the area of the flood canal, wide, relief-rich forelands with permanent and periodic bodies of water, lake-like widenings of the river and softwood belts accompanying the stream are characteristic. The waterbed mostly consists of stony-gravelly substrate, the flow behavior is characterized by areas with changing flow speeds. The flowing sections are designed close to nature and therefore have a high natural self-cleaning power.
