Schönfeld Castle. Schönfeld's Dream Castle. Information: Its origins date back to a moated castle from the late 12th century. It was expanded over the centuries. The first preservation work was carried out in 1989. Small Castle: The Small Castle comprises the main building and the coach houses with the water tower. The main building is located opposite the Great Castle.

Nice place for a break. A few meters further are the remains of the old Schafbergschanze.

Twice a year a great motorsport event takes place here on the highest mountain in Brandenburg 😏. The organizer puts on a top event every time. 👌🏻👍🏻 You can spend a great day here if you are interested in this kind of motorsport. 👍🏻

Beautiful and in the truest sense of the word, dream castle! Reminds me a little of Moritzburg...

Exciting to suddenly come across a cross-country course in the middle of the forest. The hustle and bustle on race day would indeed interest me.

For me it was definitely worth a visit. Too bad that the restaurant or the beer garden was closed.

If there is no race, you can walk past here at your leisure and see the route, if the gate is open you can also get onto the site. Anyway, no one bothered when I took a picture. I can't judge to what extent you can easily pass by here on a race weekend and see the area from the outside. According to the parking areas, there should be a lot going on. The price list showed admission prices for Sat./Sun. and a whole weekend off (8,-/12,-/17,-).

At 201m above sea level, the Kutschenberg is already one of the low mountain ranges and is still the highest mountain in Brandenburg. So if you want to hike the 16-Summits Germany (the highest peak in each federal state), you can't avoid this mountain. Parking spaces to start a hike can be found, for example, at the cemetery in Kleinkmehlen. The tour on the Kutschenberg is suitable for families overall, only the short stretch from the ski hut up to the summit is a bit steeper. At the top is the pictured stele and a few meters further in the forest the boundary stone that marks the border with Saxony.
