The pastor of Winden is said to have gotten into dire straits on his way to Welschneudorf. In a quick prayer he asked for God's help and escaped the danger. In thanks for the heavenly assistance, he attached a crucifix to the oak tree where he said his prayer. The cast iron crucifix has now grown completely into the mighty tree up to a few centimeters and offers an exciting picture of deep religiosity and the power of nature. This cross mark between Winden and Welschneudorf is the goal of the 2004 cross mark tour in the Nassauer Land. The starting point of the hike is the parking lot at the swimming pool in Nassau, where you can park for free all day. From here, the cross sign tour is continuously marked with a yellow sign.

The cast iron crucifix, originally 70 cm tall, has grown into the oak. The story / legend can be read on the sign on the tree ...
