The village, so lovingly restored today, has experienced much devastation and deprivation throughout its history. The previous church—dedicated to St. George—burned down along with the village at the end of the 17th century. In 1736, the small Reformed Church was built from red sandstone, which only received its white paint job in the mid-20th century. The 28-meter-high tower, from whose slate-covered roof a golden rooster overlooks the village, was built around 100 years earlier.

Quite well preserved castle with a beautiful view of Fleckenstein Castle and, in the other direction, of Wegelnburg.

Beautiful view from the castle, which is currently undergoing renovation work... which will take a while... 3 men don't do much when building a castle...😏... but it will be beautiful
