The chapel in the Zornheim vineyards is a foundation of the Zornheim honorary citizen Peter Eugen Eckes (fruit juice manufacturer Eckes-Granini) and his wife Ruth. Based on an idea by interior design student Lisa Denecke from 2019, the chapel was designed in the shape of a tent made of five oversized wooden triangles. The Wiesbaden-based architectural firm KISSLER EFFGEN + Partner designed the building plan for the chapel and implemented it in a wood and glass construction with six craft workshops after an eight-month construction period. Adapted to the topography of the site, a stepped interior with a sandstone altar and an ambo was created. In good weather, the 20 wooden bench seats offer a good view of Zornheim and a phenomenal view through the expansive panoramic window.
