Modular Design: The structure was designed to be usable as a two-story system. Brackets for a second level were integrated into the main columns during construction. Art in Architecture: The striking red lettering "Fahr Rad! HALLE" (Ride a Bike! HALLE) is a deliberate design element that gives the functional building a distinctive character and encourages environmentally friendly transportation. Energy concept: A photovoltaic system is installed on the roof to ensure sustainable operation. Infrastructure & capacity: The building extends in three construction phases parallel to the railway tracks and offers space for a total of 394 bicycles using double-decker parking racks. In addition, the planners integrated space in the basement for an emergency power generator belonging to Deutsche Bahn, which had to be maintained throughout the entire construction phase.
