A truly beautiful church, built between 1791 and 1810 according to designs by Jakob Joseph Schneider, the then building director of Mainz. The building features a circular choir inside and a three-sided exterior, leaning against a Gothic tower. Particularly noteworthy are the Baroque altars and wooden figures from the early 18th century. After a lightning strike in 1910, the destroyed tower was quickly rebuilt.

The small town of Heidenfahrt on the Rhine has a lot to offer: the "Rheinterrasse" café and restaurant, a small beach, an e-bike charging station, a campsite, and a playground. There are also plenty of parking spaces, making it a great starting point for a bike ride.

The Catholic parish church was built between 1791 and 1810 according to the plans of the Mainz building director Jakob Joseph Schneider. In 1960 the church was extended with a transept. The hall has a round choir on the inside and closed on three sides on the outside, leaning against a Gothic tower. The facade is decorated with pilasters and a curved pediment. The church has altars from the Carmelite Church in Mainz, which can be dated around 1720, as well as three life-size wooden figures of Saints Theresa, Benedict and Bernhard from the same period. The choir stalls date back to around 1700. A lightning strike set the church tower on fire at around 4 p.m. on June 8, 1910. The roof truss burned down and the bells fell down. The nave was preserved. Just one year later the tower was rebuilt and a new bell installed. Always nice: cozy benches with a view of the Rhine. In summer there is a restaurant next door and usually a stand with fresh fruit. And the restaurant behind the dike all year round.
