Sublime in the winter mist, colourful in autumn, invigorating in spring and a real seaside resort in summer, the Lac des Vieilles Forges can be enjoyed all year round.

The legendary site of one of the most famous legends of the Ardennes. The site of Dames de Meuse has inspired many artists with its magnificent landscapes. George Sand, Théophile Gauthier and Michelet were all impressed in their descriptions by the dark forest that covers most of the site. According to legend, this place is the grandiose testimony to the punished adultery of the Dames de Meuse.

Hike through the forest and return via a small road without significant traffic. In the forest, wet path. Equip yourself accordingly.

Beautiful bridge over the Faux. The Faux is a tributary of the Maas and is approximately 19 km long.

The Meuse is very different from our Liège Meuse

To reach the Dames de Meuse belvedere, you must continue a little over a km towards Anchamps, crossing two torrents, a little after the vertical of the dam on the Meuse.

It is not the Belvédère des Dames de Meuse which is located about 1km further on, along the electrified fence, almost above the dam. Here, there is a pleasant view of Laifour.

This sandy beach, patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months, is a safe and relaxing place to cool off after your run. You can also explore the trails around the lake, which offer varying levels of difficulty and stunning views of the water and wildlife. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will find at the Plage du lac des Vieilles Forges a course adapted to your needs and preferences.
