The Utenberg manor house (Schlössli Utenberg) was originally not a small castle at all, but a Rococo-era estate manor house (1757). It is situated in a majestic and idyllic location. The prominent and historically significant changes of ownership eventually transformed the Utenberg estate into the Gutenberg manor house (Schlössli Gutenberg) in 1997.

Meggenhorn Castle, surrounded by its tranquil park, sits on a promontory overlooking Lake Lucerne. First documented as "Mekkenhorn" in 1240, parts of the estate belonged to the Collegiate Church of St. Leodegar until the 16th century. Commissioned by owner Edouard Hofer, the castle was built between 1868 and 1870, modeled after the Loire Valley château of Chambord. Guided tours of the living museum offer insights into the lifestyle of the 19th-century nobility and the last owners, the Frey-Baumann family, who resided at the castle from 1920 until its sale to the municipality of Meggen in 1974. http://www.meggenhorn.ch/

Meggenhorn Castle is situated above Lake Lucerne in Meggen, near the canton of Lucerne. It was built between 1868 and 1870 in the style of French Loire châteaux. Today it belongs to the municipality of Meggen and serves as a museum, event venue, and tourist destination with a beautiful park, chapel, vineyard, and magnificent views of the lake and the Alps.

If you're already in the area, you should definitely come here. An idyllic spot not far from civilization. Wagenmoosweiher is an artificially created lake in the Meggerwald forest, within the municipality of Udligenswil in the canton of Lucerne. It's located in a forest clearing at an altitude of 597 meters above sea level. The lake is surrounded by reeds. On the western shore of Wagenmoosweiher, you'll find a lovely picnic area with a barbecue and a water fountain.

The Lido is a public, fee-based outdoor pool with a sunbathing lawn and a sandy beach, almost reminiscent of Italy. Within the complex, which also offers a magnificent view of the Central Swiss mountains and Lake Lucerne, there's the "Lido Beach" restaurant, featuring a lavish menu with all sorts of delicacies. Self-service is standard! A pager at the table will alert you when your food is ready to be picked up. If the weather isn't so good, you can quickly move from the outdoor area to the almost circular indoor area. The restrooms are well-maintained and gender-segregated. We tried the Caesar salad with "Swiss" chicken skewers at the Lido Beach and were more than satisfied. Price, as of summer 2025, CHF 24 per person. The Lido Beach can be booked for private events such as weddings and the like. Directly opposite the lido are the parking spaces (not exactly cheap), which can also be paid for via parking apps. Be careful! Tickets are issued frequently! And then, across the street from the lido, is the Swiss-famous Transport Museum. A must-see for families!
