It's wonderful to cycle here, great fine asphalt, almost flat and level. This makes cycling on railway lines fun.

Only deep cuts in the hilly landscape made it possible to build the railway line here using simple tools. The excavation of the subsoil for the valley cut was used again a little further on to fill it up.

A couple of very pretty half-timbered houses in the old center of Alsdorf. The narrow alley along the Druidensteig is also well worth seeing. But you have to push your bike there

At first it goes smoothly between trees and bushes, then there is a passage where the trees were felled, which is quite root-heavy, then it goes smoothly down to the valley.
