The late Wilhelminian brick building was built between 1890 and 1900 and bought by the municipality in 1903. The basement was rented to the school teacher at the time, while the upper floor was used by the municipal administration. This building still serves as the town hall today. The nine-pipe fountain is one of Wörrstadt's landmarks. The current fountain complex is marked with the dates 1608, 1779, 1815 and 1930. The fountain structure is crowned with two upright lions holding the grill of Saint Lawrence in their front paws. The fountain's spring has been the town's most important water source since the Franconian settlement. One of the two Franconian farm groups from which the Wörrstadt settlement developed was located near the spring. In the early 17th century, the spring was expanded to become the nine-pipe fountain and also supplied the blacksmith and bakery fountains with its water. The nine-pipe fountain had no water troughs until the 18th century, so the water flowed freely onto the forecourt and from there into the Weede. In 1779, the fountain was rebuilt and stone troughs were purchased in which the water collected. The old Armsheim Nord (An) railway signal box is the only mechanical signal box in Rheinhessen where you can still see all the technical systems. This piece of railway history should not be lost and should remain tangible for future generations. That's why we founded the support association "Altes Stellwerk Armsheim (An) e.V." founded who would like to preserve this signal box and design it as an adventure museum.
