You will likely see these charming creatures sunbathing in the lush meadows and rocky outcrops. As you hike the trail, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and wildflowers. A stunningly located mountain refuge, surrounded by high peaks. Their dinners and breakfasts are perfect for hungry adventurers. Just book well ahead in high season. There is the option of camping too, whilst still being able to take advantage of the refuge's amenities.

This wild col opens out at the top of a winding, unsurfaced road at an altitude of 2,107 metres (6,913 ft). The views are spectacular, especially south-west towards the high Vanoise, snow-capped all year round. Enjoyable running trails stretch in every direction, calling out to be explored: down to Lac du Saint-Guerin, past the Croix du Berger towards Mont Coin, up to the Cret du Boeuf, or through the valley to Granier.
