Lake Remoray is one of the richest areas of Doubs in terms of nature. On this 430 hectare site there are numerous plant and animal species due to the wide variety of natural environments (marshes, lakes, peat bogs, forests, meadows, gravel pits, rivers), and also at altitude. 1872 species are currently recorded there.

Section of road passing through a gorge with the Château de Joux on the heights on one side and the ruins of the lower Fort du Larmont, or Fort Mahler, on the other. This second, built in the 19th century, had the mission of protecting the Château de Joux.

At the beginning, Mignovillard and its annexes depended, from the religious point of view, on the church of Mièges. The priors and monks sent by the abbot of Saint-Claude or Cluny practiced with all the population that crowded into these mountains. However, every Sunday we had to face the distance that separates Mignovillard from the church of Mièges.
