Unfortunately, the future is still unclear, at least until the confiscation by the state becomes legally binding and the way can finally be paved for a new use. Until then, the castle will continue to fall into disrepair - what a pity.

Renowned for its exceptional vineyards, Volnay offers an idyllic setting, with its picturesque streets lined with stone houses, typical of the region. The surrounding hills are covered with vines producing some of the best wines in Burgundy. Visitors can enjoy walks through the vineyards and discover traditional cellars for tastings.

The castle has a varied history. After the revolution it was demolished to its foundations as a quarry. Then rebuilt 130 years ago. Unfortunately it is currently not accessible.
