Beautiful, quiet, peaceful place.

A high wall prevents the grounds of Drove Castle, located in the Kreuzau village of Drove, from being visible from the outside. Only the imposing gate, whose gable façade is crowned by an alliance coat of arms, allows passing hikers a glimpse of the private grounds—which are thus hidden from the public eye.

The cycle path is easy to ride on and when it's dry, there are no puddles :)

The Drover mountain tunnel is not only the only ancient tunnel in NRW, but at 1,660 m it is also the longest north of the Alps. Probably built in the middle of the 2nd century, it crosses the Drover mountain to bring fresh water from the "Heiliger Pütz" spring to a villa rustica that is believed to be near Froitzheim. Built in sections of 10 to 26 m and depths of up to 26 m, the construction shafts can now be recognized by funnel-shaped depressions in the forest floor.
