We started from Ramundberget and hiked to the Fältjägaren cabin. The initial stretch at Ramundberget is quite steep, so take it slow to conserve your energy. It’s an 18 km one-way hike, mostly through high and flat terrain. Along the way, there are plenty of fresh water streams where you can refill your bottle. The cabin itself is very nice, with good facilities and friendly, helpful staff. There are also nearby lakes with great fishing—just remember to purchase a fishing permit in advance. The views along this hike are simply amazing! I can highly recommend this hike!

Very nice rest area and also lots of space ideal for camping.

Very friendly hut landlady. Just the thing to dry off after a long, windy, cold day

A small, very well-maintained complex with four holiday homes and a tiny campsite. Absolute peace and quiet, not just at night. Nature can be heard: birds, splashing, wind in the branches 👍

if you come from the south, after several STF Stugas, you will now find the first serviced station. It consists of several buildings, the largest of which houses the reception, the café and the hospitality area. There is a sauna and drying room, and several huts have their own kitchens for self-catering. From the station you have - provided you have a good view - a great view of the Helags Glacier, which is also a reason to book more than one overnight stay here. Many hikers come here specifically to climb the Helags Glacier. This can be done in a few hours. That's why the station is often fully booked. Advance booking is therefore advisable. This also applies to the other stations to the north. https://www.svenskaturistforeningen.se/boende/stf-helags-fjallstation/

a typical STF-Fjällstuga, which according to my observation along the Södra Kungsleden northwards from Grövelsjön are all very similar: left and right a room with lounge area, kitchen, 2-burner gas stove and two separate sleeping areas with 4 beds each (2 on top of each other) . So I come to 16 bunks. The Stugvärd sleeps in Stuga Fältjägaren in a separate building. Dry toilets are - as usual for Stugor - set up in odor-related distance (stupid when it rains). A small provision cupboard for supply is available. The Stuga is on a hill. View in good weather is fantastic. When there is a lot of wind, it blows quite well here.
