It's hard to see them clearly with a smartphone, but there are lots of cormorants sitting on the rocks here. Their nests are likely to have been below the road in the steep coast.

It is Sweden's southernmost point. The coast is very beautiful - with rough seas. Otherwise, the place is quite developed for tourism and thus many people there.

The place is very easily accessible from the two car parks that exist, before and after the forest. The road at night is not noisy. It is an area very frequented by people from the area who go for a walk

For a meal break, Hörte Brygga is my favorite along Sweden's south coast. Unfortunately I was too early this year. In March it was still closed. Next time ! 🌟🌟

Smygehuk is a port and the southernmost mainland point in Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula. Signs and distance indicators indicate this geographical feature. At the harbor there is a statue of Axel Ebbe and a small memorial for "Akka von Kebnekaise", the lead goose from Selma Lagerlöf's novel Nils Holgersson, in the last chapter of which the harbor is described. The lighthouse has been in operation again since 2001; the former home of the lighthouse keeper now serves as a youth hostel. The prehistoric grave complex Bålhög is located a little east of the harbor. You are in Smygehuk at Sweden's southernmost point. From here it is 1,572 kilometers as the crow flies to the northernmost point. You can take the obligatory photo and treat yourself to a little refreshment in the nice café above. The life-size bronze sculpture, which is located on the headland, was modelled on the grandmother of actress Uma Thurman.
