Klippan's identity is deeply connected to the Klippan paper mill, which was founded in 1573 and is one of the world's oldest. The town grew around this industry, and its name, meaning "the cliff," comes from a rock formation along the Rönne River. Today, it remains an industrial town with a rich heritage in paper production.

Knutstorp Castle is most famous as the birthplace of the renowned Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe in 1546. It's important to note that the castle itself is a private home and not open to the general public for tours.
