The guard tent is a building near the China Palace in Drottningholm Palace Park on Lovön. Drottningholm Palace and its surroundings have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1991. Like all palace buildings, the guard tent has been protected as a state monument since 1935. When Gustav III took over Drottningholm Palace in 1777, the China Palace was heavily used by the court, and it became necessary to build a building for the guards.
