Alt Rehse is a village and district of the town of Penzlin on the western shore of Lake Tollense in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany). The village ensemble is a rare example of village architecture during the National Socialist era and is architecturally and historically unique in Germany.

Historical place Learning place At first glance, the village of Alt Rehse, idyllically situated on Lake Tollense, is not that obvious. But behind this small place lies a dark history. In 1935, the Nazis opened a facility there that was unique in the entire German Reich: the "Führerschule der Deutschen Ärzteschaft". But that's not all. A National Socialist model village was built around the school, the construction of which was intended to represent a "nationalistic" ideal of a "German village community".
