Tiny Santa office in Saariselkä: looks like the Lapland branch. Might be closed, but still a fun little find.

When the conditions line up, you can catch the Aurora Borealis dancing over the national park from here.

This sandy section on the Kiirunapolku Trail comes as something of a surprise. It's about a quarter of the way up to the fell summit from the starting gate.

Several trail options present themselves at the Kiilopää starting gate, though a run to the summit of Kiilopää is surely a must! A run here provides tremendous views across the fells of the Urho Kekkonen National Park.

Kiilopää Fell is an a glorious objective for an adventurous run. Keep your eyes peeled for Arctic bird species, such as the rotund rock ptarmigan.

The trails on the ascent or the descent from Iisakkipää are fun and provide a glorious glimpse of Lapland's natural beauty. Here, the trail passes near the Aurora Hut, a good spot for a breather.

Classic Lapland views await on this trail between Saariselkä and Iisakkipää. A loop in the fells here from the village to the summit is a rewarding run.

Iisakkipää Fell rises to around 454 metres above sea level and provides sumptuous views across the Lapland landscape. The summit is relatively easily reached from Saariselkä.
