Kiilopää Trailhead is the “classic” entry point for Urho Kekkonen National Park. The signs here invite you to "Escape into the wilderness" - and it's really possible - open fell country is only minutes away. The nearby trail centre offers accommodation, a restaurant/café, sauna and equipment rental, making this a very popular destination, year-round.

The Vellinsärpimä day shelter offers you a moment of peace in the heart of Finnish nature, this is a perfect spot to catch your breath. Built for day use, the shelter isn't officially made for overnight stays. But if the weather turns or your legs beg for rest, the wooden benches inside are more than enough to lie down for a few hours. There's a rustic charm here: the creak of the logs, the smell of smoke if someone’s lit the fire, and the sound of wind threading through the trees.

Rautulampi Wilderness Hut is a basic but modern shelter: it offers a simple overnight stay option with shared space. Inside, you'll typically find wooden sleeping platforms and tables.

In Kiilopää National Park, you can find super nice trails stretching into wild fells and quiet pine forests, ready to test your legs and free your mind. You find clear signposts, good facilities, and that feeling of standing on the threshold of something big.

Luulampi Hütte is a beautiful lakeside rest area tucked away in the heart of Finnish Lapland. Set beside the tranquil waters of Lake Luulampi, it offers a peaceful and scenic stopover. The site is well-equipped, featuring clean toilets, a fire pit for cozy breaks, and a spacious hut with wooden tables where you can relax and warm up. During the summer months, a small restaurant is open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. Luulampi is an ideal waypoint for a one-day mountain biking tour starting from Laanila, offering both a natural retreat and essential facilities in the middle of the wild.
