Loviisa Church, also known as Loviisan Kirkko, is a neo-Gothic red brick church built in 1865 and stands prominently on a hill overlooking the town. Its high spire and detailed architecture make it one of Loviisa’s most recognisable landmarks. The church is open to visitors during the summer and regularly hosts concerts and events. It's an easy detour for cyclists exploring the town or nearby coastal roads. The hilltop location offers a good spot to rest, with benches and scenic views over the old town and the bay.

this side of the esplanade sees very little traffic (Mannerheimintie on the other side is the main thoroughfare, no bike path on either), in the western end connects with the bike path west of the church, in the eastern end you have to take a cross street

former main road with not too much traffic, hilly with some flat sections, okay asphalt, short bike paths not worth the trouble in Ilola (awful condition) and Koskenkylä

occasionally hilly, ~2 km of freshly paved bike path in the west, not too busy former primary road in the middle (though the detour via Pernaja village is nice as well), okay bike path from the eastern Pernaja intersection to Loviisa town; in Koskenkylä you can either stay on the road or take the signposted scenic route via the rapids

gently rolling, not too much traffic except at commute hours to/from the motorway on/off-ramp in the middle of the segment, asphalt okay
