Mogadouro Castle is located in the Trás-os-Montes region in northern Portugal. This castle has a rich history, having been built by the Knights Templar in the 12th century and later passed into the hands of the Order of Christ. Although only a few sections of the wall and a tower remain today, it remains a place of great historical and cultural interest.

Between this area of small hills and where areas of forests and almond fields are combined, it offers us a wonderful and beautiful landscape to go with the bicycle!

Nice views of the Sabor River valley at this point on a large highway. A pause to see how the river has left its mark on this point of the reservoir. Further south is the Miradouro Santo Antão da Barca.
