An excellent place to admire the sunset. You can sit on the concrete blocks and watch the sea and the sun.

Once you reach the end of the jetty, you have a good view back to the beach and the lighthouse. To help you know how far out into the sea you are, there are markers painted on the ground every 50 meters...the final distance is 900 meters.

From the jetty you have a great view of Praia da Barra and the Aveiro lighthouse.

Beautiful long beaches at the end of the Costa Nova peninsula. The jetty into the sea separates the two beaches, Praia da Barra and Praia da Velha.

A beautiful open square with a large roundabout. From here, you can walk to Velha Beach or enjoy a delicious meal at one of the nearby restaurants. The Praia do Farol restaurant is highly recommended.

The Farol de Aveiro (also known as da Barra) is over 60 meters high, making it the sixth tallest lighthouse in the world. Every Wednesday, the first 50 visitors are allowed to ascend the tower. Therefore, there are often long lines of people in front of the tower on Wednesdays.
