Surrounded by the parishes of Óis da Ribeira, Fermentelos, Espinhel and Requeixo, it stands out for its rich biodiversity, including a variety of birds, aquatic plants and various fish.

Beautiful urban art mural in Palhaça, near Largo de S. Pedro, created by the artist António da Conceição de Vagos. Beautiful little chapel in Oliveira do Bairro. It is close to the new cemetery and can be easily seen as you walk along the street.

Ribeira de Montágua begins in the village of the same name, Montágua, and flows into the Mondego River. Next to the bridge is a small river beach.
