There aren't many elevations in this part of the island. Amidst the flat expanse, the view creates a kind of "ridge" effect. It's also worth a drive. The campsite there is open to guests only, but from there you can enjoy an idyllic hike along the lagoon to Ralswiek.

According to the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU), this is one of the few significant populations of the common pasque flower (Pulsatilla vulgaris) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and therefore particularly worthy of protection.
