Since the beach restaurant is easily accessible from Nes via the beach path, it's also quite crowded. During the season, it's difficult to get a seat.

With approximately 1,300 inhabitants, Nes is the largest village and the tourist center of Ameland. It is famous for its historic captain's houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, which can be recognized by their decorated gables. The more elaborate the decoration, the higher the rank of the sailor.
