Wordragen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland, in the municipality of Maasdriel. Wordragen lies on the north side of Ammerzoden, forming an arc around Ammerzoden. Wordragen consists of three streets, two of which are situated along an old course of the Meuse River, of which the Meersloot remains. This ditch forms the border with Ammerzoden. Wikipedia

The original mill, which collapsed in a storm in 1874, stood on the road. By order of the mayor, the current mill was built 50 meters from the road. At the time, horses were the main mode of transportation, and the rotating sails would frighten them. The mill is still in operation and grinds grains for animal feed. Source: the miller

Unfortunately, the viewpoint over the Maas is no longer there.

In order to improve the quality of nature and water, the area was redesigned between 2010 and 2015. This has led to improved living conditions for various plant and animal species. For example, a co-flowing secondary channel was constructed in the north of the Hurwenen floodplain. The secondary channel provides a better living environment, particularly for current-loving fish species. The construction of the secondary channel took place within the Water Framework Directive and also contributes to the ecological objectives of the European Natura 2000 programme. Many bird species use the area to forage during their migration to and from their wintering areas. The Kil van Hurwenen, or De Kil, as the locals call this area, is now open to the public. The former Reformed Church is a hall church built in 1719, partly with material from its predecessor, and is located on a hill. It has furniture from the 18th century, such as a pulpit, lecterns and a chandelier. It once housed a clock museum. Until 2021, it housed the Dutch roof tile museum. Since 2024, it has been used as an event location.

The St. Hubertus Church from 1873 was designed by Arnoldus van Veggel and is a good example of early neo-Gothic. Before that, Catholics attended church in a barn church, which was regularly flooded. During the Second World War, the church was damaged, but the Allies caught the Germans, who wanted to blow up the tower, in time, so that the tower was preserved. The organ dates from 1880 and was built by the Gradussen brothers.
