Along the river, you'll find winding paths, wooden bridges, and spots where you can spot dragonflies, kingfishers, and herons. The Swalm Valley is perfect for a relaxing walk or bike ride: you follow the water and are constantly surprised by the alternation between dense forests and open landscapes. Especially in the morning, a mysterious mist often hangs over the river, giving the area a fairytale-like atmosphere.
