Great starting point for a walk and a bite to eat afterwards

The starting point for the military exploration of the Netherlands. Welcome to one of the great stories of the Netherlands. How we worked on the national defense for centuries with a small army and a lot of water. The Grebbelinie Visitor Center is located in the National Monument Fort aan de Buursteeg in Renswoude. The Grebbelinie Visitor Center is a cultural ANBI, a Public Benefit Organization. The museum part of the center is managed by the Grebbelinie Visitor Center Foundation.

What I find most fascinating is that at one point a railway line was built right through the fort.

Nice unpaved climb of the Amerongen mountain

Nice part of the MTB route Amerongen. This part has a good flow and is not too technical so it is easy to do on a gravel bike (just remember your vignette!)

This is a long straight section to ride through, be careful though, there are round pot holes and slight drop downs, these are not good for a hardtail mountain bike. Passable but not smooth

Soof is located on the edge of the forest area. It is a cafe where food and drinks can be bought. The car park looks good, it is in a quieter location but always seems to have people in
