Paal is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located near Graauw in the municipality of Hulst, in East Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In 2006, 80 people lived there. Paal is situated on the edge of the Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe nature reserve and has a small marina that dries out at low tide, a so-called tidal harbour. There was once a shipyard where flat-bottomed boats, primarily "Hachts" and "Hoogaarzen" (stable boats), were built. The old shed from this shipyard still stands today. The harbour was dredged in the 1970s and modernized by Rijkswaterstaat in 1980.

The Flood Monument in Kruisdorp is a memorial that was unveiled on January 31, 2003, exactly fifty years after the 1953 Flood Disaster.

The 1955 bridge caused considerable traffic congestion, a problem largely resolved since 2009 by the construction of a second parallel bridge. However, the current bridge complex remains a busy traffic intersection, and it largely defines the skyline of the Scheldt municipality of Temse. Cyclists can safely cross the bridge or cross the N16 under it.
