If there is one place to pause during your walk, it is this bench. Enjoy a sweeping view over the Oosterschelde, smell the sea air, and let the wind blow through your hair.

🌿🦆 The Heen Mudflats At the water's edge 🌊, between Sint Philipsland and Steenbergen, lie the Heen Mudflats. This is a beautiful nature reserve where land and sea meet. At low tide, mudflats and sandbanks emerge, a paradise for birds 🐦🦆 that rest and forage here. The area is a mosaic of creeks 💧, grasslands 🌾, and rugged nature 🌿. During a walk, you'll hear the calls of geese and ducks, see deer 🦌 along the edges, and sometimes feel the salty wind 🌬️ blowing across the area from the Oosterschelde. It's a place where nature has free rein and where, as a walker, 🚶‍♂️ you can truly experience the silence and vastness. Every step feels like you're getting closer to the primal power of water and land ✨.

신트마르텐스 교회는 신트마르텐스데이크의 마을 교회입니다. 이 오래된 교회는 시장 광장 뒤편의 외딴 곳에 있습니다. 이 교회는 신트마르텐스데이크의 복구 개혁 교단에서 사용하고 있습니다.

Where the Pluimpot and Oosterschelde come together there is now a wide sea wall and the 'beach'. From the dike you have a panoramic view of the Oosterschelde. On the other side you can see Yerseke and in clear weather the ports of Antwerp. At low tide the mud flats stretch out to Stavenisse. Numerous birds, such as oystercatchers and curlews, look for their food there.

For centuries, the inhabitants drew water from a so-called 'borenwell' on the market. In 1791, the well was filled in and a city pump was installed. Marinus, the son of the last steward of the Oranges Willem de Jonge van Ellemeet, lays the first stone. The first street name was placed on this pump together with four dolphins. These disappeared during the restoration in the 1950s.
