Villa Nordstern is now a daycare center. I haven't checked whether there's access to the grounds, but I do think the architecture is a highlight in the cycling region.

The Lehrter Men's Choir took over the beautiful, winding half-timbered building in 1985 and immortalized itself in the door frame.

A view of Villa Nordstern. It was built in 1892 on behalf of the cement manufacturer Hermann Manske. After an eventful history, it was empty from around the 1990s. After an inglorious time as a lost place, the villa was extensively renovated from 2021. A kindergarten will be located there from 2022.

In 1892, the industrialist Hermann Manske built a stately villa on Iltener Straße, which he named after his racehorse Nordstern. Manske was a socially committed person and donated, for example, the Lehrter Hospital that still exists today in Manskestraße, which is now named after the donor. In 1911, the cement manufacturer encountered difficult waters and had to sell the founding villa and the racing stables that were attached at the time. The house passed through a few private hands and was severely neglected between 1993 and 2021, so that the villa fell into disrepair. A trained contractor bought and renovated the villa in 2021. Today there are offices and a kindergarten. The purchase and renovation were largely financed by the surrounding new development area.
