The long distance walk The Yorkshire Heritage Way goes through Saltaire and the World Heritage site at Fountains Abbey on its way from Bradford Cathedral to Ripon Cathedral. On a personal note my Dad taught art to a young David Hockney at Bradford Grammar School ( tbf my dad always said with talent like that it was more a matter of being encouraging and not getting in the way )

Saltaire is a world heritage site. Titus Salt built this village to house his mill workers. Its well worth a stop. The old mill is full of interesting things, books, art (Hockney gallery) history, cafes. https://saltairevillage.info/

I love hiking and walking but I don’t have any car or bike to join you… since 2 month ago I live in uk , so I don’t know so many people, I do like to know new people… so do you have any idea for me ? This set of five rises is the steepest set in the country. The stepped loch means that it's a continuous flight with no holding ponds between lochs, each gate opens into the next loch. Built in 1774 it's a major feet of engineering and requires regular maintenance. It's a complicated procedure to get a boat all the way up or down so a permanent lock keeper is employed to help. The structure is grade 1 listed.
