Beautiful rest area with stamp point of the Bonifatius Route

The Wetterau European Bird Sanctuary north of Frankfurt am Main was created by merging several nature reserves and Habitats Directive areas. The Wetterau is Hesse's most important breeding area for waterfowl, waders, and meadow birds, and even the only breeding area in Hesse for northern pintail and red-necked grebe.

The complex consists of an outer and main castle. The main castle was rebuilt in the 16th century. The Witches' Tower in the outer castle was built in the 15th century.

The Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Heldenbergen, a district of Nidderau in the Main-Kinzig district of Hesse, is a listed Baroque hall church. Built between 1751 and 1754, the building features a cupola-topped spire and a recessed five-eighths apse and boasts rich furnishings. (Wikipedia) Currently, however, it is scaffolded due to renovation work.

The castle complex was originally built in the 13th/14th century with a tower and bower. In the 17th century, the castle was owned by the Lords of Hattstein, who also built the north wing.
