Created for the Millennium, a superb steel sculpture in the parish on the road to Butley. It shows St Andrew the fisherman, with a catch of herrings and eels. At his feet is the church, which is now the only church in the parish of Capel St Andrew. It bears the date 1539, when Butley Priory was dissolved.

A dead end for roadies but a scenic approach across the marshes towards the huge shingle bar that protects the coast.

You can just walk in and watch the building process

The Ship’s Company was formed in 2016 with the sole purpose of creating a permanent and authentic replica of the Anglo-Saxon ship. The team is made up of professionals, volunteers and enthusiasts who are working together to fully understand the dimensions and construction methods. The ship will be built in the newly opened, Longshed, a purpose-built unit gifted to the town and dedicated to the maritime history and education.

Not exactly a scenic location on a light industrial estate but a nice cafe and with outdoor seating front and back so you can always find a shady table (or maybe a sunny one if you prefer).

Watch the drop should you enter the water along with the rip as it can get pretty fierce here

Beautifully bleak - bleakly beautiful! And don't miss the shell trail to the beach from the German Manor, which some thoughtful conchologist has made. No cafes or places to eat or drink here, but just up the road at Hollesley RSPB is Marsh Barn Cafe: the best little cafe in this sleepy little corner of Suffolk

Great shoreline to walk along and the Riverside Tearoom is always good.
