Embark on an easy touring cycling adventure through the diverse landscapes of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This 15.6 miles (25.2 km) loop, with a gentle 372 feet (113 metres) of elevation gain, takes about 1 hours and 40 minutes to complete. You will cycle through ancient Dunwich Forest, across open heathland, and catch glimpses of the Suffolk coastline, passing the atmospheric ruins of Greyfriars Priory in Dunwich.
For your visit, consider starting from Darsham Station, which offers convenient train access. Be aware that the trail uses minor roads; some sections may have uneven surfaces and 60 mph speed limits, so always ride with caution. The bridleway through Minsmere Nature Reserve can be sandy when dry or quite boggy after rain, and you might need to dismount for gates or rougher patches.
The route is notable for its journey through the renowned Minsmere Nature Reserve, a fantastic spot for birdwatching with its varied habitats, including reed beds and shingle. This area provides a unique opportunity to observe local wildlife and experience the natural beauty of the Suffolk coast. Snape Malting is a renowned arts and cultural complex set within a former maltings building by the River Alde. It offers a variety of galleries, shops, and performance spaces, including the famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall. It's definitely worth stopping here for a coffee if you have time.

On the patronage of this church: Saint ANDREW is one of the twelve apostles whom Jesus Christ called to follow him. However, in the biblical accounts he is usually somewhat overshadowed by his much more famous brother: Saint Peter. In the Gospels we find the calling of the two siblings presented in different ways. According to the text version of the Gospel of John (John 1:40-42), Andrew is called first (together with another disciple whose name is not mentioned). Later he tells his brother that he has found the Messiah. The feast of Saint Andrew in the calendar of saints is on November 30th in all major Christian denominations. The X-shaped white "St. Andrew's Cross" on which he was executed forms the national flag of Scotland against a blue background and has also found its way into the national flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
