Pizzo Barone is a peak in the Lepontine Alps of the Verzasca Group and is the highest. The terrain is alpine and the climb is challenging and requires good experience and training. There is the lake of the same name and the bivouac which are a fundamental point of reference.

A rustic location, with the curiosity of a species of cow with particularly short legs. The typical stone structures are intact and the mountain pasture is still in use today.
