The parish church of St. James the Elder Ä. probably originally dates from the 15th century. On August 8, 1886, today's St. James Church in the neo-Gothic style was consecrated by Friedrich scratches from Forchheim. The church tower with its four guard towers was taken over from the old Gothic fortified church, which had become too small and for which it once housed the chancel. The Gothic sacrament niche still bears witness to this today.
