Very beautiful quarry lake.

The MRD canal is always ideal for great trips between Fürth (Solarberg) and Forchheim. Hardly any inclines, lots of opportunities to stop for a break, great scenery - it's simply a must to do.

The Hausen lock is located at canal kilometer 32.89 at a height of 266.50 m above sea level and has a lifting height of 12.00 m. It is built as an economy lock: part of the water is temporarily stored in basins next to the lock chamber, which are staggered in height. The locking process can be easily observed from the visitor platform.

There are spacious sunbathing areas on the western shore. There is a secluded area for nudists at the northern end of the lake, and there is a small beach in the south of the lake. Open fires, barbecues and camping are generally not permitted. The town of Baiersdorf also points out on its website that Angersee is "not a bathing lake". The lake is therefore not supervised.

The Baiersdorfer Weiher - or as it is officially called: Angersee - is a popular local recreation area in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district. In contrast to the Dechsendorfer Weiher, around seven kilometers away, which is constantly struggling with blue-green algae, the Baiersdorfer Weiher in the Regnitzgrund has good water quality.

The lake is not far from the road from Baiersdorf to Röttenbach. Shortly after leaving Baiersdorf, there is a car park on the right after the bridge over the Regnitz and before the bridge over the Europakanal. From here it is about 500 metres to walk to the lake.
