The parking lot is quite full on sunny days and weekends. Parking currently costs (July 2024) €5 for a whole day.

A very beautifully situated hut. It is open all year round. In the winter months it is closed on Mondays. From the Schweibern car park you can get up here in 30-45 minutes. As far as I know it is self-service.

The pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Kirchwald is located above the town of Nußdorf am Inn. The place is called Kirchwald because residents from scattered districts had to walk through this mountain forest to attend the church service in Nußdorf on Sunday. It's now a pretty well-known viewing peak, but for good reason - the view over the neighboring mountains and the Rosenheim Alpine foothills is really great. The climb is possible via several routes, none of which are particularly demanding. On nice days it can get crowded here.

A fantastic all-round view up here! 2 paths lead up/down: from the Deindlalm over the alpine meadows, which tends to be wet and slippery, or from the Kindlwandsattel, where there is a short, easy climbing section and a few deep views, otherwise more pleasant than from the alpine pasture.

Nice story: Nazis threw the figure of St. Joseph into the gorge in the 1930s - after the end of the war it was found there intact and put back in the chapel.

Recommending is relative. So if you want to go up, you just have to climb over the extremely slimmed-down steps. Today was still wet and the ascent from the Alm was a pure mud bath. Then with the mountain boots on the greasy steps is like soft soap. Well, the poor have to do the rest.
