The Eiscafe Venezia in Kirchseeon is no longer an insider tip, but it's definitely a good one: It's centrally located and has one of the most beautiful sun terraces in the area. It also serves delicious ice cream and now also has a small but fine menu. Equally important is the friendliness of the owner and staff. If you're not already a fan – like me – then just give it a try!

This avenue always gives me goosebumps. Absolutely beautiful old oak trees, each one with a sign bearing the names of fallen soldiers. When you look at how old these young men were, it makes me shudder.

There are not many ways to get from Zorneding to Pöring and vice versa: The train is in the way! In the town center there is a main underpass just west of the S-Bahn station, wide enough for pedestrians and cyclists. A few hundred meters further west you will find an underpass at the level of the village pond. And about 1km to the east there is this small underpass that leads from the eastern end of Zorneding to the Pöringer side. You end up on Eglhartinger Straße at the eastern end of town. This is very helpful, because otherwise you would have to make a huge detour through the town center further west. I hope this helps you.

The Heldenallee in Ebersberg is a memorial for those who died in World War I from the Upper Bavarian town. It is located between the Klostersee and the observation tower on the Ludwigshöhe. After the First World War, Ebersberg suffered 84 casualties. Between 1929 and 1937, a linden tree was planted north of the city on the way to the Ludwigshöhe to commemorate each dead person. Each linden tree received a name tag for a fallen one. The order is chronological, according to the date of death, on the way from the city up to the Alm. The white boards with green roofs were last renewed in 1999. The letters are glued to make them more durable. The plaques are cleaned and repaired annually by the Ebersberg Soldiers' and Warriors' Association. Some trees had to be felled in the meantime. They were replaced by new plantings.
