Shortly before you reach the Lower Gaisalpsee from below, you have a great view of the waterfall formed by the Gaisalpbach stream leaving the lake.

The path along the Gaisalpbach stream through the Gaisalptobel ravine is constantly accompanied by rushing water. It's beautiful and wonderfully shady in summer.

A steep descent on metal grating stairs and partly on steps secured with stones and wooden beams, with a view of the wild ravine and the small waterfalls that meander into the valley.

From Oberstdorf, the Rubihornsteig trail is a very beautiful trail that can be managed even by a fit person without any hiking experience. However, on the ridge, it suddenly becomes significantly rougher, and you'll need a head for heights. Some sections are narrow, and there are steep drops to the right and left; one misstep would be fatal. No special equipment is required.

The hike to the Rubihorn is well signposted and marked, but requires surefootedness and a head for heights, especially from Gaisalpsee, where the trail becomes increasingly steep and exposed in places. Some sections are secured with wire ropes.
