Langenzenn passed into the possession of the Nuremberg burgraves from the House of Hohenzollern around 1248. In the ZennOase on Försterallee, interested Langenzenn residents have jointly created the first beds of the "edible city" of Langenzenn. Public green spaces are planted with local fruit, vegetables and herbs instead of flowerbeds or lawns. The edible plants are educational, ecologically valuable and can also be harvested.
