The Kulturbahnhof is a station building built in 1908. It was used as such until 1963 and has been a listed building since 1998. It was restored by the association "kuBAka e.V." (founded in 1999, around 25 members) over an eight-year period and thus saved from decay. A total of around 50,000 euros (9,000 euros in donations, 36,000 euros in public funds, 5,000 euros in contributions) and 2,500 hours of work by the association were spent on it. The building was bought from Deutsche Bahn in 2007 and has since been used for various types of cultural events: public events organized by the association such as festivals, book cafés, exhibitions, film evenings, slide shows, public courses organized by external providers (meditation, painting, music...) and private celebrations.
