The Türmersturm (Turm Tower) is the city's most famous landmark and part of the former Electorate of Mainz Palace. It was built as a defensive tower in the 13th century and later expanded in the 15th century. With a height of approximately 35 meters and 119 steps up to the tower chamber, it once served the city guard to monitor the Tauber Valley and the surrounding area.

Tauberbischofsheim Castle, also known as the Electorate of Mainz Castle, dates back to the 13th century. Today, it houses the Tauber Franconian Landscape Museum and, with its striking tower, is a landmark of the town.

At Werbach's market square, there's a good Italian restaurant, and today, at the car-free Taubertal, there's also seating, food, and drinks. A pleasant place to linger.

After the railway line and the tunnel behind it were closed, the bridge served as the Wertheimers' route across the Tauber for a long time. However, the bridge is now closed. All that remains is its rusty appearance.

Wertheim Castle is the ruin of a hilltop castle on a high, narrow promontory between the two valleys of the Main and Tauber rivers above the town of Wertheim. It is one of the oldest castle ruins in Baden-Württemberg. Wertheim Castle was first documented in 1183 and, "starting from the upper castle, was expanded over several construction periods into a spacious castle complex until its destruction in the Thirty Years' War." The keep (around 1200) and the palace from the second third of the 13th century still stand from the upper castle. Adjacent to the palace is another residential building, in which remnants of an older structure have been preserved. The town was a "planned foundation at the foot of the castle." Construction of the city fortifications must have begun as early as 1200; they eventually enclosed the castle and town with a ring of walls. Source: Wikipedia

The Lohr–Wertheim railway, also known as the East Spessart Railway, was a branch line in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. It ran largely along the Main River from Lohr am Main to Wertheim. In Wertheim, it connected to the railway lines to Miltenberg and Lauda. Operation of the 37.1-kilometer-long line began on October 1, 1881, by the Royal Bavarian State Railways; 1.6 kilometers of the line lay within Baden territory. However, as early as 1885, the Bavarian Railway Administration described the line as one of the least frequently used lines in its network, a situation that remained largely unchanged in the decades that followed. Passenger service between Lohr Stadtbahnhof and Wertheim was discontinued on May 30, 1976, followed by the Lohr Bahnhof–Lohr Stadt section on May 22, 1977. Freight traffic still operates there today, primarily to supply the local glassworks (as of 2020). Freight traffic between Lengfurt-Trennfeld and Wertheim was discontinued on May 26, 1979, and between Lohr Stadt and Lengfurt-Trennfeld on September 29, 1991. The line was dismantled in 1980/81 and 1993, respectively. The three tunnels of the railway line – the Bettingberg Tunnel, the Kaffelstein Tunnel, and the Schlossberg Tunnel in Wertheim – were closed in 1980/81. After the line was closed, the Bettingberg Tunnel was used by Daimler-Benz AG for a time to test its track-guided bus. Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahnstrecke_Lohr-Wertheim
