Inside the church is the world-famous altar of the Virgin Mary by Tilman Riemenschneider, a masterpiece of woodcarving, and in my opinion the most beautiful depiction of the Virgin Mary in the world. On August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, you can admire the so-called miracle of light there. The evening sun makes the Mother of God shine in golden light.
