Always a special place with a beautiful story (or legend?)

The observation tower at Am weissen Stein offers a striking stair climb... the view into the stairwell is fantastic.

Why do I keep going there? There is no view - the drive up from Dossenheim always seems so long to me - it's not really that nice. But: The climb is always a good challenge. Not too steep, but consistently in a pleasant range. And the descent is worth it (but watch out for the cars!). Oh yes, and as a running highlight: The trails around the Weißer Stein are of course amazing, so definitely try them in all directions!

In summer it is a lovely destination and starting point for many sports with mountain bike trails, hiking trails, gravel roads and running trails. Personally, I always associate the place with the first refreshment station at the 50km Heidelberg Trailrun, which takes place in September and which I can only recommend.

Great for the kids

A remarkable rock formation. The Wildeleutestein is a legendary secondary peak (522 m high) of the Eichelberg (525 m high). The cave located in the Wildeleutestein rock formation served as the basis for numerous sagas and legends.

It's a bit old, but still fun for kids.
